About me:
Margaret Trim completed her Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Regent College (2004) and a Master of Theology at Vancouver School of Theology (2015). She is currently completing a certificate in Complex Trauma with the Justice Institute of BC.
Margaret is a lay preacher within the Anglican Church of Canada. She is an artist with words, photos, and paint. Her happy place is hanging out with the birds in the woods or the water, and she is passionate about the relationships between theology, artistic expression, and trauma healing. She published the article, “God’s Child: A New Imagination in Trauma Healing” in TheOtherJournal (November, 2015), and has been invited as a guest writer on various blogs. She recently completed “Listening Prayer” facilitator training. She continues learning and experiencing new ways to pray (and to play!)
Her modus operandi is to find delight and to bless.
A further glimpse:
Learning and growing
As a life-long learner, there are always new questions to ask of myself and of the world around me. To bring my faith into conversation with all that I'm learning, makes possible out of the impossible.
Spending time in nature
I am in my “happy place” whenever I am outdoors and with the birds. Nature just does and just is which then invites me to be seen and be known, just me as me.
Listening for the whispers
I have begun to use expressive arts as a way to listen for the whispers and the shimmers as I engage with Scripture and with my own healing journey.
Finding my strength
I am discovering a profound connection between my physical fitness and the inner growth unfolding. It has been transformative to experience empowerment and freedom as I focus on embodying strength.
“And so, my friends,
I pray that you will drop deeper into the knowing and living into your hearts and your bodies. I pray that your imagination will know the deepest possibility of safety as you are held in the arms of Love. And I pray that you will experience the sensation of courage as you extend your arms into the world with love.”
